Totally unique grit to Paula's work, making it completely ROCK AND ROLL, has that edge we love around here, but the soul of every one of her picture is just steeped in classically great photography. Take a look, because her gift for blending the two is impeccably balanced. Like her here on Facebook. Im a big ol' fan!

I know myself!! Lets just leave the phone off shall we!

Rocker Girl Interrupted.

Uninspired. Perhaps a valley of seeming perpetuity. Whatever the label I slap on life these days, one things for certain; hardship finds us all for seasons of our life. My seasons extended itself for the better part of 2013 with potentiation in its complexities of barracades, detours, devistations and setbacks. Alas I’m still kickin. Perhaps a little less oomph in it, but still standing all the same.

Its by the skin of my teeth I find myself able to hit Wilmington Delaware this evening, tearing myself away from the safety I get as of late by just hunkering down with my autistic son and clinging. Maybe Ive done that a few months longer than justifiable,  but in the wake of loss of just about everything material, including forced physical separation from one another for two long, seemingly neverending months and still struggling to stake our homebase roots in our new New Jersey locale. Sometimes perserverance is the only break you can bank on! Heaven knows we still believe that and walk it out each of these days.

While the story bank has accumulated and my  musical and writing passions took the back seat to my only eternal one in my little man, I have withdrawn from the scene since the fall.

At the behest and heavy support of Geddis and my son, here I am. Wilmington Delaware for the second show of winter ’13’s Scott Weiland and The Wildabouts leg.

Their Mt. Pocanos opener met critics as they unveiled new material in lieu of the earlier year Purple/Core song offerings. I, for one, am stoked. Good on em! Scott Weiland & The Wildabouts are creatively talented and  I missed their original pieces, save consistent presense of Paralysis on the setlist much of this years touring.

Snafus abound already this evening as door time misprints lined many of us up next to a grocery store, Asain cuisine mid dinner rush and an obscure trophy shop.

I’m glad I came. With the final stop in NYC sold out for weeks now and this chic striking out on getting in,  this may be it for my 2013 Weiland & The Wildabouts fixes. Five states, seven stops. Some areas of life defy complaining,  for sure :)x

Saying Thank You to Scott Weiland & The Wildabouts: 8pm The Trocadero, Philidelphia PA

MRGLITR hits our last stop on the 2013 Scott Weiland & The Wildabouts Purple at the Core Tour in mere hours. Seven tour dates, a wealth of notes, photos and reflections on our year of tour coverage spanning all three legs, two coastlines, many an adventure, several standout support acts, the split of my two decades long favorite band unfolding simultaniously, shitty media coverage and, perhaps most eagerly burning to be let loose in my writing repertoire, a firsthand lesson by example that unfolded about the power of perseverance,  confidence & taking it all in stride. Tonights last moment add on show to the blogger…agendas? Whatever the fuck is plural😉 Our staff is leaving the reporter pads at home and are headed put to listen as thankful fans to one classy, talented, humor laden group of musicians. Join us as we are gearing up for our final 2013 fix of Scott, Doug, Dan, Tommy & Jeremy.

Tonight at The Trocadero.
Philidelphia PA.
Doors at 7pm (worth being there for support act bliss. Its been phenominal & you don’t want to miss The Last Internationale. Long since when have you seen a female voice like Delila’s, wailing bass and rocking like a rocker girl can only recall circa Benetar and Jett. I’m serious: its a show!)

See ya there RockerFam.

Tickets up still on

Some things are too good not to share immediately!

Like Scott Weiland and The Wildabouts putting on the best show I have seen yet. Better than last years Pony show. Better than STP Vegas 2012. Best. Thank you Dan, Jeremy, Tommy, Doug and Scott. New Jersey loves us some Scott Weiland and The Wildabouts.

Scott Weiland & The Wildabouts Return to The Stone Pony Tonight @ 7pm!

Nine months back Hurricane Sandy moved Scott Weiland and The Wildabouts from the stage of The Starland Ballroom to the legendary Stone Pony. This marked my first independently published blog and the start of what would become part of my proffessional life through my website MyRockerGirlLifeInTheRed. Perhaps, most notably, it was that show that brought me to Asbury Park and the music scene of the New Jersey shore, where I have since moved residence and our coroporate office. No one is more thrilled and eager than I to return to The Stone Pony to hear the music of Scott Weiland and The Wildabouts as we continue to check in on the tour and gear up for RockerReport backs from this past year.

We have just two shows left after tonights; Philadelphia being our last touchstone with The Wildabouts, and then a proxy bringing us new perspective on Weiland’s old STP bandmates as they perform under the name with a new frontman. We all have seen the headlines, the stories, the speculation and hype around many a thing Stone Temple Pilots this year. For those of us that know and love the music of the original line up, divided truly barely tells the tale. We are ready for the dialouge and debate as I relay my 2012/2013 view from the pits of pre 2013 STP shows, 12/13 Scott Weiland and the Wildabouts pop ins and wrap it up with our STP with Chester B. closing show. Its been a wild ride. Emails about my silence as the events unfolded were frequent, but the truth is it isnt over until the fat lady sings. Or here, the fat lady also has a functional proxy in her place.

In the meantime, get your asses to The Pony and get your gauge set to Purple at the Core. Every show is its own, and this one I would NEVER miss!!

\m/ See ya there Rocker Family.

The Wisteria of Weiland.

, , , , , , , , ,

As I and a couple of my newly aquired crew of Rocker bee’s gear up to embark on 2013’s second leg of the Scott Weiland and The Wildabout’s PURPLE TO THE CORE TOUR, I am enthralled to wrap up a package plights experienced as a die hard STP (uh, when there wasn’t a featuring xyz in the title of show promos. No offense Chester, Eric, Dean or Robert. Indeed we will be sending my lovely assistant in my place tomore neutrally bring covergae of the AC show to cover it and meet with the remaining memebers of STP & Chester B. Damn I am fair!!😉

Truth is: After lots of inner debate, I want my readers to hear a balanced account of the years events, but like a kid caught in a nasty divorce, I seem to admittedly have gravitated naturally to picking my preffered cutodial music parent. And its Weiland. Just a single ‘kid’ of millions, millions of stp pre 2013 fans, I have that attachment and closeness that clings to the voice and lyrics. My Wildabout step family is kickass, welcoming and respectfull of my absent parent. Always has been.  And the rest of my estranged parent band isolated and forced fans to take sides with the nasty handling; that seriously just pissed me off. Made the preference clear. One envirments respectful and pleasant, caring to honor the absent parties. One  not so much, and that is a shame. To dress up a stepmom who is pretty awesome when not being held out as a clone replacement, kinda sux. Even tho I miss the STP fam all together, remain a fan of the musicality of Robert, Eric and Dean, its still too fresh to stomache the approach to continuing on under the family name.

So intead you will meet Goobic, my understatedly beautiful, down to earth, open minded think machine of a Rocker Assistant as we progress through Weiland tour stops, trailed in turn by STP featuring Chester B. That coverage will be brought to you by a far more neutral source than I. If u all start to call me fair, balanced and infer journalistic impeccability, I may barf. Just like I would at a non Scott STP show. I dont attend live backer band karaoke presicely to avoid drunk poor massacres of Sex Type Thing, and Ive complained on the bar next door but once. When the loudness imparted a wretched cover band vocal  interp of Dead and Bloated. Yeah, its not entirely correct to expect Connie Chung journalistic motivation behind my 360 coverage fair and balanced choice. Im not into the gossip of the downfall of my fave band, but Im never into keeping my opinions at bay either. So there is little doubt I will opine on the new line up and how I see it. Perhaps my nobility lay only in anticipating my own commentary and getting ready to justify it. Or maybe I may  be surprised and love it. But, come on now. I have YouTube and generally two eyes and ears taking notes….

There is one known quotient to this RockerGirls end of summer agenda tho, and that is the series of shows on my plate this week as I reenter the Wildabouts wicked garden of beautiful music, musicianship, showmanship and emotion filled experience of the frontman of dychotomy, backed by some awesome musicians that demonstrate humor, loyalty and skill, is always a show. Scott Weiland is who he is and always has been. It got me thinking about the painted views of him and how I may differ from popmedia interpretations. I came up the thought of wisteria for some reason. I looked up the meaning. Its a good one.

Some do call the vine like flower generating shrubbery of the wisteria a weed. Its noted to to encroach the pristine, more conservative and contained, planned for and predictable plants in traditional landscape. I say fucking A: Sounds like a hell of a frontman I know. And he is headed back to the top his way. And I wish a few more would stand up and say loudly, power to him. Maybe you didnt plant Weiland and The Wildabouts in your yard, but if your the type that can accept unexpected delights: then you will be glad they came to your yard.

Wisteria: n 1. any climbing shrub belonging to the genusWisteria, of the legume family, having showy, pendent clusters of blue-violet, white, purple, or rose flowers.

Tonight, Long Island. Paramount Theatre Huntington NY. 8pm. Tickets available at

See ya on the road RockerFam.

Limp Bizkit 2013; Ready To Go. (& a tour that hit hard, strong, new & yet vaugely comfortable *just the way any RockerGirl likes it)

, , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , ,

To cover Limp Bizkit’s earLy touring for the upcoming album Stampede of the Disco Elephantswell, if you are a longtime loyal fan it defied words, except perhaps ‘more please’. If you are an average fan you would say it kicked ass visually, sounded incredible, that our boys sound better than ever, though perhaps you wished some extra commercial shit was in there, disappointed to have not heard your favorite. Fuck it though. To each their own. Now, if you are Limp impartial, then you absolutely couldn’t deny the energy, stamina, art, texture and climate that has made Limp Bizkit an institution and pioneering godfather band of a breed of rock music that didn’t exist before they blew up the scene in the late 90’s.  Today labeled “Nu Metal” or “Metal Rap”, the sound is still done no justice by the coined terms developed specifically so the music and sound of this band could be discussed in the soundbites of 97 pop culture.

IMG_0750So count this chic up in category one. Longtime Limp respecter of the real shit. The music. The uniquely out of box artistry of Fred, Wes and separated/departed whatever the true case of the matter = irrelevant to the honest talent and contributions of DJ Lethal. So, being on of the no words gang, I instead will call upon the long ago rocked out words of Fred Durst vocals circa year 2000 to relay my sentiments post live coverage and critical response from a girl who can’t bullshit: I believe it went a little something like… “now all these critics wanna hit it….” Touche’. Well. I suppose I can’t speak for ALL critics. But…..  ;)x Some intel I am privy to first hand.

On the lesser media radar these past years, Limp Bizkit never left the rotation of MP3 standbys in my trusted iPod soundtrack of life. With all the changes that were making the media airwaves, I wasnt sure entirely what to expect live as I walked into their second stop on the tour, TOTALLY FUCKING LATE, about to undertake a blogging excursion with the first time daunting task of General Admission + a new boyfriend in tow. Responsibility for accommodation of another human being is rather double-edged isn’t it? Geddis is a whole other blog, one I promise to share since many a reader may drop a jaw to picture me paired up with just about any normal homosapian.  He is all kinds of great and not great things, but normal is boring and normal he is not. He is New Jersey testosterone meets tender, patient redhead enthusiast, and I met my match indeed.485417_10151620460269836_1991349947_n

A local fixture in the scene, Geddis, a man you will all come to know and love like I do I am certain, in this case grossly over estimated his importance of the night within this oversold, way too packed Pony, room of rocked out, kinda inebriated fans and douchebags alike, that truly…. well, they were a par group for a rock show. But my chosen manfriend is no rockerboy, this is true. Real things first? Geddis is a guys guy who is neither a major fan of Bizkit, nor a major fan of my attention going solely to the band. To both, no compromise is to be had. So alas, Geddis chose the bar over a decent placement in the crowd. In this evening, the compromises of girlfriendhood truely cost me my rockergirl credo spot, positioned to bring you the always attainable, best fan positioned images for this show. Responsible, showing up early earned, get the good but anyrockerwoman or man shit, the old-fashioned way: well maybe it’s not always attainable  when love and rock and roll collide for the top billing in moments of EVERYDAY life intersecting with my crazy, oft surreal work life. I sold out your seats readers, knowingly, for love. Or cock. Maybe both…. Whatever. I do apologize, but seek your understanding forgiveness in relay of honest to God motive here. Geddis has an ass that warrants following around, trust me.

In honest laying of my logic out for ya; it’s a little something like this Fred Durst comes and goes in my rock and roll town. However, I sleep (and get put behind on sleep for greater endeavors) next to the dude I elected to follow rounds to the Pony’s array of handy location bars, as Geddis remained confident in the crowd of his ability to get us back to the barricade where I live as a blogger. I was vocally skeptical, bordering on demasculine-izing taunts. Yet, I let him lead. Thats my way. Thats the order of the world folks. Women nag. Men lead. Men have to be let to be wrong. I defend that to this day😉 And be assured, Geddis made it up to me later (sincerely and skillfully, thus all was forgiven) But more important to the greater good, he made it up to you lovely readers as well by ensuring he was the fucking paparazzi in that bitch once the redhead switch triggered alarm bells and less than demurely reminded him of the global reliance of my rocker readers on pics before dicks. He got it.

IMG_0722 IMG_0721 IMG_0717 IMG_0716 IMG_0715 IMG_0714

So, I managed my way to the best place I could, and refused to budge for beer or nuclear collision. I planted! And with my mancandy bf turned photo maven, successful only through the grace of properly fucking awesome frontman finesse that managed to work the entire chaos jammed room, indeed: plenty of great show shots showed up in the repertoire for your second-hand viewing pleasure. Rocker-kingdom echoes a big THANK YOU to FRED DURST! The fan attentiveness seriously slaps the taste out of a stereotype that I can tell you first hand is utterly incorrect and contrary to my experience.

* And: Geddis, we are all positive you learned much about rocker red velvet rope manifesto through the trial and error, and subsequent wrath of the red-headed variety through the lived and learned, Kim-guided  experience he embarked upon, and fell over, for Limp Bizkit, NJ that April balmy night. And, do pray for him, this extremely gentle and practical soul ladies and gents. He rides a crazy train ever more with this chic, and I just KNOW that you all doubt me not on that point for even a second. I am certain you can just imagine the pair we make!

20130429_220308Taking in the sights and sounds of todays Limp Bizkit, no matter your seat in the house, leaves a taste that wets a palate for the full meal. There has been no lyrical energy, skill filled talent, angry-sensitive dichotomous stage drive or charismatic sex appeal lost in the fray of temporary absence of Limp Bizkit from our NuMetal tapestry. It is nothing short of the sport they invented and a hearty welcome back for Fred Durst, Wes Borland, Sam Rivers and John Otto. Their time away from the public eye served only to wet our appetite and peak our curiosity for what was ahead. Ok. Not ONLY our appetite and curiosity, but read on…. and check out those goodies for yourselves.

Yes. It looked like so. Once upon a time in a little local haute music mecca we all like to call upon in the times of musical need, The Stone Pony, this newly transplanted redheaded blogging, managing, still moving the music shop from west coast to east, crazy, frantically overwhelmed Seattle RockerGirl said fuck responsibility, I want to see my Jacksonville dudes play some loud soul exorcism reliable ear candy. She cancelled her trip home to Seattle, and ever glad that she had by this evenings end, she had come to witness Limp Bizkit blow up their first concert performance of their new single Ready To Go, she had a newfound affinity for Fred Durst that she echoed involuntarily for days after laying eyes on the full beard that had been folded into the styling mix of the still urbanrock, eyes that could almost confuse the typecast accuracy of a bad boy frontman. Almost. Charm gets ya everywhere sometimes. Watch and learn fellas. Durst still drops panties. It happened all around the Stone Pony.

IMG_0737But our redhead. Well. She felt right at home as a set list reorg unfolded in the sidelines of the show; alas, moments later, such left her taking in this sight of a full bearded Durst, but the sound of the familiar MetalRap vocalist echoing instead a serenade unto this Seattle Girls ears under a duo of Nirvana classics (truly, I am not a big Nirvana crazed chic, however the sentimentality made me a little wet. I must admit. I shake my head still at the artful charm inherent to Leo males skill set.) I promise rocker family, to neither let the collisions of homeward emotional connectedness to ALL APOLOGIES or SMELLS LIKE TEEN SPIRIT or the wet panties it produced (I neither removed not through mine, lest any of the onstage decorations by nights end be ascribed over yonder. My office is just blocks away now. Who needs that kinda business card making the press?:) Neither of these shall color my commentary of this concert, or lead you astray in your own eventual mutual understanding of the powerful refinement that has developed in this band since we last saw them.changinitup

origsetlistthereshebechangingI dare say there is a more mature undertone to the delivery of the music, but its Bizkit. I feel like the word mature can’t quite conjure up the proper image of the reliable energy, delivery, quality of show and music that is still the hallmark of Bizkit. Check the new single. It shows you what I mean. Maybe it just feels a little more tight and experienced in delivery of all we would expect from Bizkit. To take in Limp Bizkit like we love em, but just a notch or two more cozy and skilled, PERFECT for this chic. Just enough of an unfamiliar undertone in the senses to magnet over my elusive attention, still blow our minds and eardrums like the sure things I magnet to all the same. Bizkit 2013? I AM SOLD.

IMG_0579 Guitarist mikeshoutout IMG_0573 IMG_0564 IMG_0560With the release of the music video for the single Ready to Go hitting the globe next week, undoubtably an onslaught of opinions are about to meet my thoughts head to head, for better or worse. As they breathe in the familiar air of the sound of Bizkit, joined with the yet to be seen visual take, with the William’s brothers Cash Money records behind them this time, I am anxiously awaiting the music industry commentary on what I see as a return of a needed band into the gaping hole they left in the art and market of a genre they forefronted, and no question are set to again for the next round of fans. I feel pretty strong about it. But a career made itself for me out of my wonton distaste for bullshit suits and a scapegoat machine that lives long and strong in musicland to protect a greedy inside by framing the spoons they try to feed us here on the outside, where our wallets fund their paychecks, ever larger than the bands.

IMG_0749 IMG_0741 IMG_0737 IMG_0736 for Kristin

For Limp Bizkit, the start out of summer at home in Florida, then to our Jersey Shore, ended up for the band to be just the beginning of a summer defined by a remarkable series of equally successful world wide tour stops that mimicked the accolades and reception they received in the closing Monday of April here in Asbury Park. A new album upcoming later this summer, just dangling like a carrot waiting to toss a salad that has been damn near stale and ranch dressing deprived for YEARS, I can tell you: Bizkit is coming for a new generation of fans! And if you loved them prior, well. Get ready for a notch or two of adrenaline as your own gaping hole is expertly filled in all you’ve been missing from Limp Bizkit. It is coming…..and better than ever.

Announced so very clearly, just moments into the show, a sincere and heartfelt Durst echoed into the crowd “I love this shit. It is just so intimate in here. This is great”. And, it was. This wouldnt have been plausible decades back and I doubt it will be again. The Stone Pony oversold the show by 71. That is 971 bodies in the best fucking bar on planet earth, and not accounting for the bodies of employees, band members or adjoining entourage and tour peeps and neither the in house sound tech crew, nor the third party vendors. Easy, EASY 1150+. To Limp Bizkit:

PS: On the crowd, bc you know I have my faves and I have my fucktard stories, ALWAYS> YES, there was THAT douchebag present here too. And this time I jammed a thumb having to push the guy away as he tried to elbow me like the chickenshit he was. Again fuckbags that get cant hold booze, clearly that have major issues all up in them to even act that way in a room of people towards a female thats a total stranger to them (perhaps somehow the red hair, pigtails, tattoos and calm, focused, content watching of a concert somehow is an invite to try to exploit the lack of dick and demonstrate some testosterone> I dunno. And, alas this time i was with another male too! Apparently being a chic standing solo wasn’t really the lure as I once predicted. Hmmm) So, as for how it worked out for him. If you see an over the hill, pretty much balding comb over like, 5’4, wannabe Guido past his prime (and, btw this dude could never, ever have even deserved that kinda billing in life without the wannabe preface. Believe me. He isnt fit for G)  DONT fuck with rocker girls dickless, spineless pricks. Please. It never pays your way in looking like anything other than a drunk fuck who got put in your dunst aura-d never social ditch publicly BY A GIRL. Just. I would take fifty jammed thumbs any day just to watch a guy like this have to suck it up and move along. Yes. It was good times as usual in rockerland. behinddouchebag

And red-headed unity came straight to mind, offered here as our parting thought. An anonymous fan gift that came as I compiled notes and material for this blog. A red butterfly (the Dior fob and cheap ass metal, well. Thats all RockerGirl, but) to the butterfly sharer reader out there, thank you kindly for sharing sucha kick ass peice of art….

DcocoonThe color red has numerous meanings. It is the color of energy, passion and action. It is also the color of anger.

Far from being a flighty, fluffy symbol – the animal symbolism of the butterfly is about profound changes of the soul.

To all the RedHeaded, RedHated, or just RedHearted souls out there; your my kinda peeps. Always rock who you are with a high head and whole heart!

My Rocker Girl Life In The Red is heading out to collect our hometown slice of The Jersey experience. Just months after the pandemonium that was Soundgarden Seattle: a sold out show 1 and equally quickly sold out show 2, we now meet up with the tour at the MAC Theatre at Monmouth University just a rocks throw from our newly settled in Asbury Park/ East Coast headquarters. (Ok, ok, its like… ten mins…And PS, since I throw like a bitch, I pretty much can’t back that exaggeration up for shit. Touche’. How bout a RockNRoll throw from our redheaded haven. We’d travel all over for Chris, Ben, Matt and Kim frankly: so this is like playing our lobby relatively speaking!)

Shocked as I am to report, tickets are still available for instant download thru Ticketmaster, stubhub, the college. Trust us. This show is bad ass: but a Jersey Shore crowd and set contrast to Seattle’s dynamite duo of show dates was too convenient a reason to visit my hometown band phenom, and smack in the height of homesickness. Grabbing my latte and getting grunge girl worthy. Seattle and Jersey; let’s do each other proud shall we?

See ya there rocker fam!

Some like it Limp…..

Not phallically speaking! (Is that a fucking WORD?:) ah well. Is now ;)*

No my ladies and hopeful gents. Limp Bizkit is coming to town and we’d like to ensure you know that My Rocker Girl Life In The Red will be Rollin into the sold out show tonight bringing you the goodies of the evening.

Stay tuned for our coverage from The legendary Stone Pony, NJ. My little redheaded focus is locked and aimed directly at these Jacksonville pioneer boys of metal meets rhyme: Fred, Wes, Sam and John are a lil EPIC to me actually. Picture me a teenage girl, trapped in a little dirt road town called Interlachen, FL, population like seven, hanging summers plus time with my dad. Nothing good to be bad doing around there. Nothing cool. Then I stumble onto some local up and coming band, buzzing and almost breaking. Just a rocks skip from my one stop light town of seniors, hicks and nothing at all exciting to do with oneself as a wild, exploring redhead rocker in developement: early Bizkit may have sculpted my adolescence actually. Man. That explains SO MUCH ;)x

Oh, fuck any hater or debater, of wich we know there are plenty: I love me some Bizkit and the brand of Numetal they godfather is not up for any debate.

With our newly situated blog headquarters in the heart of Asbury Park New Jersey, tonight marks the first Rocker Girl outing into the new hometown turf. Being at the Pony where we began our journey into the web universe just five months ago TO THE DAY: well we may be bicoastal these days but we we are unilaterally certain tonight’s East Coast show is the place to be!

Now ushered ahead of our backlog of blogger show synopsis’ over these last 45 days when CEO girl hat kinda kicked the rocker hat to the back-burner, I couldn’t be more thrilled to share the rocker hat comeback with the Durst red one. Seems so befitting!

The Stone Pony, Asbury Park NJ

So we got some music news. Life news. Business news. Jersey news. Updates. All the shit ahead AND Nookie blazing through the Pony tonight. Heaven is a little closer to my Asbury Park office this afternoon than may be seen by the naked eye ;)x
